The European Day of Foundations and Donors will be celebrated on Saturday, 1 October 2016 from 11 am to 3 pm in the Thalia Square in the Hansa Emporium shopping centre. The event has been put together by a working group of representatives from the Åbo Akademi University Foundation, the Stiftelsen Eschnerska Frilasarettet foundation, the Institute of Migration, the Kone Foundation, the Varsinais-Suomi Regional Fund of the Finnish Cultural Foundation, and the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland. A total of 17 art and science foundations from around Southwest Finland will be taking part in the event.
The European Day of Foundations and Donors is a dynamic and fun-filled event, celebrated everywhere where there are foundations. More than 20 European countries celebrate the European Day of Foundations and Donors. The event is an opportunity for foundations to showcase their valuable work to the general public, acquaintances and strangers, other foundations, or anyone else who is interested.
The programme will include an exciting mix of activities, including music, dance, puppetry, as well as researchers and science. Come and meet the people behind the foundations and learn about their recent projects! The full programme will be published during the week beginning on 12 September.
